WELCOME TO NWA SUB-DIVISION
Nwa Sub-Division is one of the oldest sub-divisions of the North West Region of Cameroon. Nwa Subdivision was created on April 7, 1963. Nwa Sub Divivion is the largest Sub-Division of the Donga-Mantung in terms of surface area. The population of the area is estimated at about 122000 inhabitants with an estimated population density of 0.81 Person per KM2. The current mayor of Nwa is Mr. NGONFE LOMA David MOLOH . The council has 35 elected municipal councilors.
The people of Nwa Subdivision come from three distint ethnic groups which are: Yamba, Mfunte and Mbaw. Nwa Sub-division is located East of the Adamawa Region, North and North-East of the Federal republic of Nigeria, South East of the West Region, and West & South West of Bui Division.
Nwa Sub-Division is made up of a total of forty-two (42) Villages namely; Adere, Bang, Bitui, Ncha, Lus, Kom, Mballa, Kwaja, Jui, Koffa, Manang, Mbah, Mbat, Mbepji, Sa’am, Ntim, Ntong, Kwak, Fa’am, Ngung, Sih, Bom, Gom, Mfe, Nwa, Mbem, Nkot, Rom, Yang, Nguri, Ntem, Nwanti, Ngu, Mbirikpa, Nking, Nwat, Ngom (Sabongari), Nyurong, Ngomkw, Jastor-Gwembe, Ngamfe-Kurt, Lih.
Nwa Sub-Division is endowed with alot of potentians and offers various opportunities such as the green blanket of vegetation and forest patches , wild life diversity (wild animals, birds and aquatic animals). The area is endowed with considerable Mineral resources: important indices of iron ore are reported in Kofffa, Mbepji, Kwaja and Adere and environs. Precious metal compounds containing gold, nickel, cobalt, tin, are reported along banks of Fih stream, Adere and Lus vicinity, hilltops of Ncha, Bitui, Koffa. Industrial minerals such as sand, clay, and rocks also present.
